NASCAR CUP SERIES DRIVER RICKY STENHOUSE JR TO SERVE AS NASCAR
YOUTH SERIES HONORARY GRAND MARSHAL FOR TRI-CITY DIRT NATIONAL
SPEEDWAY, IN (May 22, 2023) — Ricky Stenhouse Jr., driver of the No. 47 Kroger
Racing Chevrolet for JTG Daughtery Racing has been named the Honorary Grand Marshal for
the NASCAR Youth Series’ first dirt national race at Tri-City Speedway in Granite, Ill., on June 2-
4.
Stenhouse Jr., kicked off the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series by winning the prestigious
Daytona 500 in February. Since then he’s earned 4 top-10s and a pair of top-five finishes.
A native of Olive Branch, Miss., Stenhouse Jr., can often be found racing at local short
tracks all over the country as he is the owner of a sprint car team. Stenhouse earned USAC’s
Rookie of the Year honors for both the NOS Energy Drink National Midget and AMSOIL National
Sprint Car series in 2007.
Upon making the move to stock cars, Stenhouse Jr., won back-to-back NASCAR Xfinity
championships in 2011-12. He made his first career NASCAR Cup Series start in 2013 and
ended up earning Rookie of the Year honors for the series that same season.
Stenhouse Jr., is only one of eight drivers to have won in NASCAR’s premier series as
well as in USAC’s Silver Crown, Nos Energy Drink National Midgets and AMSOIL National
Sprint Car series joining the likes of motorsport greats Mario Andretti, Jeff Gordon and Tony
Stewart.
He joins a long and impressive list of NASCAR Youth Series Honorary Grand Marshals.
Iconic and legendary drivers like Mario Andretti, Jeff Gordon, Joey Logano, Josef Newgarden,
Kyle Busch, Arie Luyendyk, James Hinchcliffe, Chase Elliott and Alexander Rossi.
With almost 60 NYS-sanctioned clubs located all across the country, thousands of kids
ages five and up, along with their families, participate in quarter-midget racing. Some notable
NASCAR graduates of quarter midget racing include Jeff Gordon, Joey Logano, Ryan Newman,
Alex Bowman, Ryan Blaney, Justin Allgaier, Harrison Burton, Justin Haley, Carson Hocevar,
